Why Participate

Ronald McDonald Houses are non-profit organizations that provide temporary lodging for families whose children are being treated in nearby hospitals. Families may travel hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles to seek specialized medical attention for their children. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, family members can find the comfort and support they need. Stays vary from a few days to months at a time.

Needless to say, covering the expenses associated with the “home away from home atmosphere" provided by the 207 Ronald McDonald Houses around the world, 188 of which are in the United States, is a daunting task.

Fundraising events held by various Ronald McDonald Houses are crucial to help raise money for general operating income needed to support their local House.

To date, the Annual Sporting Clays Tournament to benefit the House near University of Chicago Children’s Hospital has raised over $280,000 to help offset expenses and provide much needed help to families in their time of need when they are coping with the illness of their child. Nationally, this fundraiser has generated over $480,000 for Houses across the country.

Many McDonald’s Owners, suppliers and corporate employees, along with the Ronald McDonald House staff, their dedicated volunteers and friends, not to mention the shooters that participate are all responsible in some aspect for the success of this charity event. But also, a significant part of the success of this event is due to the heartfelt support and generous sponsorship given by the many local and national companies and organizations.

In return for your commitment to this worthwhile event, you will be:

  • Partnering with a nationally recognized charity at a first class event

  • Exposing your product line or service to ideal clients

  • Enjoying the opportunity to network with other vendors in your industry

  • Exposing the public to positive press for the industry
